My name is Michel Collet and I have been an attorney since 1995. I mainly assist entrepreneurs and private clients in the region of Zundert (especially Achtmaal), Roosendaal, Breda and surrounding areas.

A broad practice, with a broad perspective.
I grew up in Belgium and studied law at Maastricht University. The problem-based learning there taught me to approach any problem step by step, together with you as my client.
Since 1995 I have had a broad and diverse practice. I have assisted entrepreneurs, private individuals and organisations in a wide variety of disputes, contracts and projects. Besides my work as an attorney I have also worked as a quality manager, board member and volunteer in several organisations.
This combination has taught me to work in a structured way, to monitor processes and at the same time to keep an eye on the person behind the case. I like to work with modern tools: digital files, online meetings (Teams, Zoom, WhatsApp, WeChat, Telegram) and the use of AI tools as an aid.
I also work for many entrepreneurs and private clients with an international background, including members of the Chinese community and other cultures.

You send me an email or call me. I confirm receipt and indicate which information I need in order to assess your situation.
We agree which documents I need to see. You then receive an engagement letter for the first advisory work with an indication of the costs for this phase.
You then receive initial advice and an assessment of chances, risks and possible routes. If you decide not to continue afterwards, you only pay for this first phase.
On the basis of the available information I prepare a time estimate with a lower and upper limit. You receive a proposal for the next steps, together with a further assessment of chances, risks and costs.
If you agree, a new engagement letter follows. Depending on the matter this may be based on an hourly rate or on a fixed fee. The hourly rate is not a blank cheque – it is a tool to work together towards a good result.
Unless a fixed fee has been agreed I charge an hourly rate of € 245 (excl. VAT), plus disbursements (such as court fees, extracts and other costs of third parties). There are no separate office surcharges – these are included in the hourly rate.
If no fixed fee has been agreed I monitor the agreed upper limit. Unless later it turns out that essential facts or circumstances were incomplete or incorrect, that upper limit is the maximum amount that I will invoice for the assignment.
If facts or circumstances change materially, you will receive a new estimate and engagement before I continue.
I do not handle cases on the basis of state-funded legal aid.
I cannot receive third-party funds, as I do not have a separate third-party funds foundation account. Payments therefore take place directly between you, your counterparty and/or the institutions involved.
